The easiest way to find & join the WALKING TOURS is with a taxi:!
Taxi rides are generally quite inexpensive: the average ride from about any downtown hotel to any of our departure spots costs less than US$7.- and taxis hee can carry up to a maximum of 4 people. If at all posible carry Argentine money (it is generally better if you carry small change: local taxis are inexpensive and convenient, but notorious for money scams). You need ONLY pay EXACTLY what the taxi meter reads (make sure he resets it once the ride starts and it is a good idea to carry small change, you can always pay an exact amount (tips to taxi drivers are neither necessary nor customary... unless you REALLY like him/her). |
All morning walks depart daily, rain or shine, from downtown at 10am and we meet just outside the "Florida Garden Café" at the corner of Florida St. (the main pedestrian street downtown) and Paraguay St., a very active, bustling corner. You will see our guides standing outside the café's window, wearing bright vests (or some cap or badge) that read "BA Walking Tours". If you do not trust your fluency in spanish, just show the taxi driver these instructions:

Afternoon Departures (Recoleta-Palermo "Amazing BA"):
Afternoon walks depart daily, rain or shine, at 1pm by the red phone-booths at the shade of the huge tree outside "La Biela Café" at the corner of 600 Quintana Ave., also a very popular corner. You will see our guides by the tree, wearing bright vests (or some cap or badge) that read "BA Walking Tours". Just show the taxi driver these instructions:

Night Departures (Tango "Night-out"):
This is a Tango Show Night-Out with the local crowds!Departs Daily and we pick you up 6:45 - 7:15pm from all downtown hotels--Drink, eat & learn to dance it --or just watch. To see this, you HAVE to make a reservation in advance (not less than 6 hours before, though only an earlier reserve -24 hs- insures availability). Just after midnight, we will take you back toyour hotel.

Instructions for the Tango Night-out:
Wait for us at the hotel lobby at pick-up time (do NOT wait anywhere else: we might not make it to the show in time). Dress smart casual. |

Do not bring valuables to Walks & Tango:
Buenos Aires is basically safe, but like many large cities there is always inherent risk, specially if you are wearing or showing valuable stuff. Please, for everybody's safety and your own, avoid showing flashy watches, jewelry, fancy electronics, etc. |
